Thermoplastic Hose and Fittings News
Dyna
Flex Inc. 711 (SAE100R7 hose) is lighter and more flexible than
standard push-on hose.
With long hose lengths and large quantity requirements
there is
opportunity for cost savings for shipping and raw material cost. With
increased pressures to save on freight and rising price on rubber
hydraulic hose, smart purchasing agents and engineers will need to look
to lighter and more flexible materials to substitute for increased
profits and flexiblility.
If you consider bend radius, Dyna Flex Inc. 711 series thermoplastic is
more flexible in 1/4 inch inner diameter and 3/8 inch inner diameter
and is the same for 1/2 inch inner diameter. Thermoplastic hose minimum
bend radius is less than 1/2 that of standard push on hose for 1/4in
inner diameter. Dyna Flex Inc. 711-04 SAE100R7 1/4 inch inner diameter
hose has a bend radius of 1-1/4inches. Comparable 250psi push-on hose
has a 3 inch inner diameter. As an extra benefit Dyna Flex Inc. has a
1/8 inch inner diameter hose with a 1/2 inch minimum bend radius in
conductive ( Dyna Flex Series 701-02) and non-conductive (Flex 7110-02)
configurations.
If you consider weight, Dyna Flex Inc. 711 series thermoplastic is at
least 14% lighter in 1/4 inch inner diameter and 3/8 inch inner
diameter and is the same for 1/2 inch inner diameter. As an extra
benefit Dyna Flex Inc. hose can be made in twin and in conductive (
Dyna Flex Series 711) and non-conductive (Dyna Flex Inc. 7110)
configurations.
Disadvantages of 711 series hose would be hose ends would need to be
crimped as opposed to being pushed in by hand. It would be also easier
to uncoil and coil push-on hose.
If you have an application which has lengths requirements of 50ft and
longer and hose crimping is not an issue, Dyna Flex Inc. Series 711
hose may be a viable alternative. Couplings can be supplied in carbon
steel, stainless steel, and brass. Please contact us for specification
sheets.
